The International Association of Oil Transporters extended with new members

The latest meeting of the members of the International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT) and representatives of the oil transporting companies showing their interest in joining the Association was held in Prague on April 23-24, 2015.

 

The session on April 24, apart from the top-level representatives of the three member countries, - MERO, the Czech Republic, Transneft, Russia, and Transpetrol, Slovakia, was also was attended by representatives of the Belarusian Gomeltransneft and Hungarian MOL, who expressed their willingness to join the Association’s membership, and a senior representative of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, seeking for the observer status.

The meeting’s discussion focused on the schedule of the Association’s activities and drafting the agenda of the next meeting expected to address topics like  quality of transported oil, internal pipeline inspections, leak prevention and detection systems, etc. These topics are most essential for oil transporting companies.

The Association’s mission is to coordinate steps in oil transportation, exchange of information and providing  joint solutions for challenges of oil pipeline transport.
