The IAOT is an ambitious international project. It aims to become a platform for key actors dealing with the transport and storage of crude oil and crude oil products.

IAOT currently unites ten members and observers from nine different countries.

On 9 April 2020, a meeting of member companies of the International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT) was held. The key issue appeared to be uninterrupted operation of oil transportation infrastructure under the conditions of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. The conference was opened from Prague by Mr. Jaroslav Kocian, Chairman of the Board of Directors IAOT and Director General of MERO ČR. The meeting took place in the form of a videoconference for the first time, which allowed to connected the offices of oil pipeline companies and employees of the Association’s member companies. Participants listened to information on the approach and measures taken by individual entities to reduce the health risk of work teams during the complicated sanitary and epidemiological situation. They shared experience including good practices in this area.
